Television viewing is a major activity and influence on
children. Children in the United States watch an average of
three to four hours of television a day.
While television can entertain, inform, and keep our children
company, it may also influence them in undesirable ways. Time
spent watching television takes away from important activities

b. Nhận xét :
* Ngôi thứ nhất số ít (I) và ngôi thứ ba số ít ( He/She/It ) to BE có chung
một dạng là WAS . Các ngôi còn lại ( You/ We/ You) có chung một dạng là
WERE
wasn't và weren't là dạng rút gọn lần lượt của WAS NOT và WERE NOT

* Lưu ý: -Động từ chia ở thì quá khứ đơn có 2 dạng : Nếu là động từ có quy tắc

và học thuộc lòng ở cột thứ 2 của bảng động từ bất quy tắc.

Thì quá khứ đơn diễn tả một thói quen trong quá khứ ( tương ứng với thì
hiện tại đơn thì diễn tả một thói quen ở hiện tại như ta đã học )
Thì quá khứ đơn diễn tả một hành động đã hoàn tất tại một thời điểm xác định
trong quá khứ, không còn liên quan đến hiện tại
-Thì quá khứ đơn thương được dùng với các cụm từ chỉ thời gian xác định ở
quá khứ như: last week/ month/ year…………,a week/ two days/ five months/
three years ago, yesterday, yesterday morning/ evening, in + năm, from 1945
to 1950, for + two days/ months…………
Ví dụ: I was born in 1990

- Trợ động từ “do” chia ở quá khứ là “did”.
